unWired utilizes a robust ground-based network, with local towers based no more than 10 miles away from your location. This technology provides a more stable and consistent connection, especially during inclement weather.

Latency

Due to the distance data must travel, Starlink typically has higher latency compared to ground-based networks, which can impact online gaming and video conferencing experiences.

Installation

Starlink does not offer any professional installation. Your only options are to climb onto your roof yourself or hire a third-party installer, for an even higher added cost. You are also required to pay for your satellite upfront, which can range anywhere from $350 to $599.
