Facilities Coordinator

Pay Range: $20.00 – $30.00 / hour

unWired is searching for a proactive Facilities Coordinator to join our Operations team. Reporting to the Tower Operations Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing all building/tower-related activities and scheduling preventative maintenance at all facilities, including tower locations. This position is responsible for coordinating site inspections and ensuring that facilities are safe and well-functioning.

Essential Duties:

  • • Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, HVAC, utilities etc.) at existing facilities.
  • • Assist in test, turn-up and acceptance of all newly constructed equipment including, AP and fiber circuits utilizing existing testing equipment.
  • • Test and maintain log of facility battery plants, generator run times, and facility power loads.
  • • Supervise, schedule and coordinate refurbishments, abatement, and replacements at tower sites.
  • • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
  • • Inspect and perform quality inspections on buildings’ structures and enclosures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
  • • Track and maintain logs and information for all sites.
  • • Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs.
  • • Interact with Pollution Control Boards to ensure compliance.
  • • Assist in ensuring Fire Department/Hazmat inspections are scheduled and completed within specified timelines.
  • • Supervise staff and external contractors while construction/repair/renovations are taking place.
  • • Assist in creating and updating databases to track all inventory, site audits and correlating installation dates.
  • • Perform or coordinate preventive maintenance inspections of all data center and colocation systems including: DC power plant, Inverters, Backup Generator, Fire Suppression System, Security, and HVAC.
  • • Provide Information and reports on network systems and capacity to Engineering and Management teams as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • • 2+ years’ Information Technology experience, preferably in a communications service provider environment.
  • • Working knowledge of OTDR, Ethernet stress testing, and optical light meters.
  • • Basic knowledge of AC and DC power systems, battery plants, and Midtronics battery test sets.
  • • Demonstrated experience with Layer 1, 2, and 3 networking and Cisco Catalyst Metro Ethernet based switches.
  • • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, VMWare, VNXe Data Storage systems, or the ability to learn.
  • • Familiarity with Cisco Network and Security products.
  • • Ability to interpret and apply complex technical information.
  • • Knowledge of network systems design and implementation.
