Tower Supervisor

Pay Range: $66,560 – $85,000/ annually

unWired is searching for a driven, self-motivated Tower Supervisor to lead our Tower and Project Labor teams. Reporting to the Tower Operations Manager, this position is responsible for providing day-to-day support and supervision of the Tower crews. This position is responsible for ensuring that all work on and off the tower is being performed safely and accurately.

Essential Duties:

  • • Provide daily instruction to tower climbers to ensure that all jobs are completed correctly an timely.
  • • Ensure that all tower climbers are properly equipped with the right hardware to complete daily job assignments prior to the start of each shift.
  • • Review daily schedules and coordinate with Scheduling department to ensure that all tower crews are working efficiently.
  • • Ensure accurate tower site documentation is maintained (rigging forms, safety forms, equipment, pictures, contact info, etc.) for each site location.
  • • Respond to network inquiries and outages in accordance with company guidelines.
  • • Follow industry and company standards regarding safety policies and procedures.
  • • Ensure all vehicle inspections are completed on a regular basis and coordinate arrangements for required maintenance with the Construction Manager.
  • • Develop, organize, and supervise training programs based on new and revised systems, procedures, and/or applications. This includes responding to questions and providing support and/or additional training as necessary.
  • • Communicate and identify coaching opportunities based on practices observed in the field.
  • • Work closely with the Construction Manager by providing information, reports and communicating any needed changes.
  • • Promote safety and follow industry standards regarding safety policies and procedures.
  • • Manage team morale and provide a positive work environment by effectively communicating with each member of the team.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • • High School Diploma, or equivalent language and mathematical skills.
  • • Related hands-on experience in a Tower Climber role and/or the field of wireless networking.
  • • Knowledge of networking systems including Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, VoIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, ATM, PPP, MPLS.
  • • Ability to interpret and apply complex technical information.
  • • Knowledge of systems design and implementation in a database environment.
  • • Knowledge of teleprocessing security and communications networks; and knowledge of technical and user-related aspects of a personal computer environment.
  • • Must be highly organized with demonstrated ability to multitask.
