Ditching cable or satellite TV and switching to streaming is becoming more and more popular as prices are rising. Because of this, streaming services are getting better, more cost effective and easier to customize based on your needs. However, when people cut cable, one of the things they miss the most is being able to watch or record live TV. Luckily, there are several services out there that allow you to stream live TV with ease and at a lower cost than cable. Here are some of our favorites:

Sling TV

Sling is one of the first streaming services of its kind to offer on-demand streaming, as well as the ability to stream live TV. They have two different packages: Sling Blue and Sling Orange. Each package has a selection of 30 to 40 different channels for $35 a month. You also can purchase both packages for $50 a month. Every plan also includes 50 hours of their cloud DVR storage.

Hulu with Live TV

Hulu’s newest plan comes with 75+ live streaming channels. What makes this service so great is that it also includes access to their extensive on-demand library and original content. Add-ons are available for enhanced DVR and unlimited screen options. Prices start at $69.99 for their base plan, which includes Disney+ and ESPN+.

DIRECTV STREAM

DirecTV was one of the first satellite or cable TV companies to jump on the streaming bandwagon. With plans starting at $69.99 a month, this is perfect for those who are used to cable and satellite but are tired of paying the price. They offer a variety of packages, but their base package has 65 live streaming channel and includes on-demand.

YouTube TV

YouTube TV only has one package, but it has 85+ channels, including sports (including the NFL, NBA and MLB networks) and news. One of the things that makes it stand out is the fact that it has unlimited DVR storage and you can have up to 6 accounts in a household. YouTube TV is $64.99 a month and is available in most metro areas in the Central Valley.

FuboTV

FuboTV plans start at $64.99 for 116 channels, but they offer several plan options. Every plan includes 250 hours of Cloud DVR and you can stream on 3 or unlimited screens at once, depending on your plan. No matter which plan you choose, you will receive regional sports networks and ESPN, making it a great choice for sports lovers!

Philo

Philo is among the cheaper live TV streaming options, at only $25 a month for 60 channels. They are able to keep their price low, due to the fact that they do not offer sports channels. Philo does, however, have a majority of the lifestyle, reality and sitcom channels you know and love, including MTV, A&E, Hallmark and Food Network. Their plan also includes unlimited DVR that saves for 12 months.

BONUS: Go old school with an antenna

Although this may seem old-school to some, you can get most local channels with an HD antenna. By purchasing and installing an antenna, you can watch local channels over-the-air such as NBC, FOX, ABC, CBS and other local channels. Not all live-streaming services will allow you stream local TV, so this would be a good option to consider in that situation.
